What is emphysema?
In this disease, the alveoli of the lungs swell more. Due to this, their walls become thin and the walls are torn. The spreading power of the lungs decreases, and the patient starts having difficulty in breathing, it is also called pulmonary emphysema. Emphysema is a common lung disease. The disease is more common in older men. In this disease, the air sacs become more dilated and their walls become thinner. There is no flexibility in them, due to which the lungs keep inflating. Due to this, the chest is permanently highly taut.
Causes of emphysema:
Repeated respiratory tract infection.
Repeated dry cough or prolonged periods of emphasis on alveoli. At the time of exhaling, the walls of the air sac are thin and burst due to lack of air completely.
Due to prolonged bronchitis problem.
Due to old age.
Because of a cold.
Causes of pneumonia disease.
Due to excessive smoking.
Due to viral infection.
Symptoms of emphysema:
Only after doing a little work, does the patient’s breath starts to swell.
The patient starts coughing and breathing due to swelling in the windpipe for a long time.
The disease starts slowly after bronchitis.
Symptoms of bronchitis are found in this disease.
Cough begins to occur after infection.
The patient gets mucus.
The patient’s face turns blue.
A cough can last for many years.
In the last stage of the disease, the heart spreads.
Due to shortness of breath in cough for many years, there is a lack of oxygen and an increase in carbon dioxide due to changes in the lungs.
The patient is not able to sleep comfortably at night.
The power to work decreases, and the patient breathes after doing a little work.
There is constriction in the chest while breathing.
The movement of the chest decreases while breathing.
Breathing sounds are less heard in the lungs.
The sound of wheezing also comes from the chest.
