What is an ovarian cyst?

The ovaries are part of the reproductive system of women. They are located in the lower abdomen on either side of the uterus. Females have two ovaries that produce estrogen and progesterone hormones along with eggs.

Ovarian cysts are cysts formed in the ovary that are of a closed sac-like shape and are filled with fluid.

Causes of ovarian cysts:

Every month during the period, a pouch-shaped structure emerges, known as the follicle. From these follicles, hormones called estrogen and progesterone are released, which help in the release of matured eggs from the ovaries. In some cases, it has been observed that follicle size increases even after the end of the fixed period of menstruation, which is called an ovarian cyst. Ovarian cysts are usually not harmful and mostly heal on their own. But many times, if the cysts are not cured, then they cause a lot of trouble to the women.

Symptoms of ovarian cysts:

Irregular periods.

Period pain

Pelvic pen.

Pain during physical indigestion.

Accelerating the process of passing discomfort or stools during freshness.

Vomiting and feeling of bloating in the stomach.

Frequent toilet visits due to the bladder not being empty.

Breast swelling

Changes in hormones cause hair growth and weight gain.
