Osteoporosis symptoms and causes

  What is osteoporosis?

Osteoporosis is a condition in which bones become weak and more prone to rupture.  This weakens the bones so much that even a slight shock or fall can lead to fracture.  Osteoporosis-related fractures occur mostly in the hip, wrist, or spinal cord.  It can also cause fractures during normal activities.  Osteoporosis affects both women and men but Asian women (especially women whose menstruation has stopped) are more likely to develop it.

 Causes of osteoporosis:

Age is a major reason for getting osteoporosis.  Usually, the process of formation and breakdown of bones goes on in our body.  But after reaching the age of 30, the bones continue to break, but the process of growing backstops, and the bones become fragile.  And increases the likelihood of getting osteoporosis.

Menopause usually occurs in women between the ages of 40–5.  In this condition, there are hormonal changes in the body of women due to which the bones begin to be removed from the body.  At the same time, if we talk about men, at this age the bones continue to break in their bodies as well.  However, this process is slower in men than in women.

This problem also occurs due to hypothyroidism.

 Vitamin D deficiency.

 Calcium deficiency.

 genetic predisposition.

Sunlight does not fall on the body.

 Pollution of the environment.

Low estrogen levels in women in menopause.

 Cancer Treatment Therapy.

 Hyperthyroidism.

Medical condition or medication: Medicines like prednisone or cortisone may also be responsible for this.

 Rheumatoid arthritis.

 Lifestyle without movement.

Alcohol and smoking and tobacco consumption.

 Symptoms of Osteoporosis:

In the early days, there are no symptoms of osteoporosis.  It is detected when a fracture in the hip, spine, or wrist begins.  Osteoporosis can be detected based on certain symptoms.

Gingival loosening: In this, the gums become loose and the grip on the teeth becomes weak.  In this, the density of the jaw bone is reduced.

Decreased grip capacity: According to doctors, a decrease in the ability to hold hands is a major symptom of osteoporosis.

Weakness of the nails: Weakness of the nails can also be estimated that the density of bones is decreasing.

Reduction of length: When the spinal cord is compressed, there is a slight reduction in the length of the person.  When your length is reduced even a little, be careful and consult a doctor immediately.

Fracture: Fracture is the biggest sign of weak bones.  Fractures occur very easily when there is severe osteoporosis.  In such a case, fractures can also occur due to sneezing.

Back or neck pain: Osteoporosis also leads to fractures in the spinal cord.  This causes pain in the back or neck.
