Kerala reports another monkeypox case, 7th in India

This is the fifth monkeypox case in Kerala so far.केरल में यह अब तक का पांचवां मंकीपॉक्स का मामला है।
केरल में मंकीपॉक्स से पहली मौत की पुष्टि के दो दिन बाद , राज्य ने मंगलवार को मलप्पुरम जिले से एक और मामला दर्ज किया। 27 जुलाई को यूएई से लौटे 30 वर्षीय व्यक्ति का मलप्पुरम में इलाज चल रहा है। यह राज्य में अब तक का पांचवां और देश में सातवां मंकीपॉक्स का मामला है।

“Another monkeypox case was reported in the state. A 30-year-old person is undergoing treatment in Malappuram. He had reached Kozhikode airport on 27 July from the UAE,” Kerala Health Minister Veena George said.
The government of India has now made a task force on Monkeypox in India to be headed by Dr VK Paul and Union health secretary Rajesh Bhushan among other members.
On Sunday, George had said that the Kerala youth who died in Thrissur on Saturday had tested positive for monkeypox abroad. The 22-year-old youth, a native of Punniyoor in Thrissur, days after he returned from the UAE.
The man, who had reached India on July 21, was staying with his family and was admitted to a private hospital only on July 27. His samples were taken in the UAE on July 19.
Addressing a press conference, the Health Minister said, “The man arrived on July 21 and interacted with family and friends. He started showing symptoms such as abnormal jerking, breathing issues but he didn’t have blisters or rashes. There are 20 primary contacts that include health workers, family and friends.”
